Morgan Twardoski is a first-year student who came to NDSU from Bismarck, North Dakota. She has always loved reading and writing so it was no surprise that when it came time to choose a major, she chose communications. Strategic communications, to be specific. The main reason she chose this major is because she believes she can do almost anything she wants with it. She prides herself in her ability to see beauty in everything around her and loves traveling and experiencing new things. Because of these qualities, her dream job would be a travel writer and photographer. She loves dealing with social media and wishes to someday be able to post about her experiences and make enough money from these posts to continue funding future trips. Her absolute favorite place she's visited thus far is Oahu, Hawaii. One could say that this trip was what truly sparked her adoration for traveling and experiencing different cultures. Another major factor in bringing about her love for traveling was her mom. Morgan would say that her mom is her biggest role model, and the person she looks up to the most. Growing up, Morgan's mom told her that she should do everything in her power to travel as much as possible and experience all there is to experience. This mindset has always stuck with her. One could say it connects to one of her absolute favorite movies,
Blended. This movie has a little bit of everything: romance, comedy, family, and of course, traveling. In
Blended, the family travels to Africa, one of the many places Morgan has always wanted to visit, and they get to experience a lot of the interesting culture that it has to offer. Along with Africa, some places on Morgan's travel bucket list include Greece, Italy, France, Japan, and Brazil. However, it may be a while before she is able to visit these places. More realistically, in the nearer future, Morgan hopes to visit Colorado, California, Oregon, Washington, and New York. She is not alone in her goals to see all of these places. Her brothers, Kade and Michael, share this dream. Kade is 23 and Michael is 17. They also love to travel and do things like hiking and exploring. In fact, when their family traveled to Hawaii, the boys' favorite activity was hiking up the trails by the waterfalls and jumping off of them into the water. Although Morgan loved this as well, she most enjoyed relaxing in the sun on the sandy beaches and surfing. If she could, Morgan would absolutely pick up and move to Hawaii in a heartbeat. However, this would make her goal after college of traveling the country in a van pretty difficult. This idea may sound crazy, but two people have been doing just that for the past few years and they have inspired Morgan to do the same. These people's names are Ashtyn and Connor. She doesn't know them personally; she just follows them on social media. But she is inspired that they found a way to follow their dreams and see everything they want to see; she believes she can do the same. If she is able to find a way to make enough money blogging, taking pictures, and even posting on social media, she hopes to do the same as soon as possible.
